Violence and Aggression
Our training program teaches our caregivers not to take the person’s agitation, and or violence as a personal attack on them but a part of the illness. We train our caregivers to cope up with their frustrations and to be calm .
Sleep Problems
Amazing Care understands that most people suffering from memory loss may be restless, agitated or irritable around dinnertime, commonly known as “sun downing”. Our caregivers are trained to prevent this kind of syndrome or at least limit its manifestations through simple techniques such as encouraging exercise during the day and limiting napping in the afternoon etc.
Hallucinations and Delusions
Our caregivers are fully aware that hallucinations and delusions may be experienced by your loved ones as the disease progresses. We explain to our caregivers the probable causes of hallucinations and delusions and we train them on how to help prevent it, and provide comfort and reassurance.
Depression and Anxiety
Your loved ones may experience depression making them unhappy and thinking slowly. Amazing Care understands the seriousness of depression and has trained our caregivers not to expect immediate recovery. This is the time our caregivers need to provide more understanding, comfort and support for your loved ones.
Losing Personal Items
It is common for a person with memory loss to misplace objects. In some cases, the caregivers will be accused of taking their personal items . At Amazing Care, our caregivers are trained to respond to the accusations without confrontation or anger. |
